Millennium Bridge

The bridge over Morača river is designed as an asymmetric single span cable-stayed bridge with a unique shaped inclined pylon and a special arrangement of back stays which surround a scenic plateau at the bridge entrance. The stays in the main span are arranged in a single plane in the middle of the cross section which carries a four lane main city road and pedestrian and cyclist areas on both sides. The inclined pylon height amounts 57 meters.

The authorial concept, exceeding widely the elementary function of the bridge – bridging – and also in the worldwide sense inventive construction design (launching of an extremely wide and slender carriageway structure, which then is hanged over stays) classify the bridge among the most pretending bridging structures that have ever been constructed not only for the exploitation purpose but also for a more comprehensive one – cultural.
