Ponting Bridges Director Dr. Viktor Markelj will give a lecture at the Conference honouring 75 years of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Skopje on October 4, 2024. He will be talking about the development of concrete bridges. The scientific conference entitled "From slide rule to artificial intelligence" will take place in Skopje, North Macedonia, and will come after the celebration ceremony the day before.Dr. Viktor Markelj (1958) is a Partner, Managing Director and a Senior Bridge designer of Ponting Bridges. His notable bridges include the Ada Bridge in Belgrade (2012), Puh Bridge in Ptuj (2007), Pedestrian drawbridge in Gdansk (2017), Bridge over Mura River (2003) and Railway viaduct Pesnica (2023). A winner of many awards for his engineering expertise and a lecturer that passes the knowledge to future generations at University of Maribor.
