1. Prize 

The winning proposal for the new bridge over Drava Lake at Ptuj (Slovenia) is ranged as s.c. ’’extradosed bridge’’, which are similar to cable-stayed bridges only their pylons are usually lower and spans vary from 100 m – 200 m.

The length of the proposed bridge amounts 430 m with spans of 65 m + 100 m + 100 m + 100 m + 65 m. The superstructure is designed as a pre-stressed box-shaped 2.60 m deep concrete girder with two outwards inclined 9 m high pylons at each support.

The bridge substructure consists of two abutments and four middle piers in the Drava Lake, all of them deep founded on piles 150 cm in diameter.
